About Us

Contributors to this site consist of a variety of experts in the DJ entertainment field.  Consultants range from financial and equipment experts to lighting technicians and voice-over artists.   My name is Lou, and I am the founder of howcanibeadj.com.

I started in 1980 as an on-air drive time radio DJ broadcasting from a small studio outside of Ocean City, Maryland.  This was the start of a satisfying and rewarding career in the DJ entertainment industry.  For almost 16 years, I performing at some of the largest and most prestigious nightclubs in town.  It’s was during that time that I discovered the true worth of a business minded DJ.  Nightclub owners and managers appreciated the fact that I understood the difference between a packed dance floor all night and higher profit margins.  In addition to radio and clubs, I was co-owner of a large multi-system DJ company, contracting over 700 events (primarily weddings) each year.  I’m also not a stranger to marketing, having worked in advertising for both major print and online publications.

The complete “how-to” guide that is being created will guide you through the steps that can take you to the next level.  Whether you are just getting started or have been a DJ for several years, this guide is a must!

We are working hard to create the manual and video content.  To learn more about How Can I Be A DJ and to receive periodic updates on the progress of this great system, enter your email address at the upper right hand side of this page.  We’ll keep you in-the-loop and let you know when it’s ready for publication.  Sign up now to receive the guide “Where To Find DJ Music”.  It’s FREE.
